HEALTH PROTOCOLS & PROCEDURES BEING ADOPTED TO PROTECT AGAINST COVID-19


Dunsborough Primary School has put into place a number of actions/steps to be carried out at school  to ensure good hygiene levels are maintained. These actions/steps are:

 

  • Teaching children the recommended procedures on how to effectively hand wash, cough /sneeze, as well as refraining from touching mouth and nose etc as put out by the Health Department of WA.
  • Instructing children not to engage in hand shaking or hugging and avoiding close contact with others, especially someone who is demonstrating cold or flu like symptoms.
  • Encouraging all children to maintain, where practical, a social distance of a least 1.5m from other children and adults. 
  • Sending a student, who is showing symptoms of being unwell or flu like symptoms ie. coughing, sneezing, runny nose, stomach ache or fever, to the school office, to avoid further contact with other students.
  • Providing classes with access to supplies of hand sanitizer gel which can be accessed by children when entering classrooms.
  • Encouraging all children to avoid touching their eyes, mouth and nose.
  • Instructing all students to wash and clean their hands with soap before eating their recess or having lunch.
  • Directing all students are to wash and clean their hands with soap after going to the toilet
  • Promoting the filling and use of drink bottles is to be encouraged rather than sending students to use the water fountain taps to get a drink.
  • Encouraging all children not to share pencils, pens, textas and other personal stationery items, including Ipads. 
  • Leaving all student desktops completely clear at the end of the day, for school cleaners to disinfect and clean daily all desktops and surfaces
  • Ensuring the surfaces of iPads, notebooks, computers and headphones are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
  • Students who have been performing duties as Green Ambassadors or have used a bin must wash their hands with soap
